Races and Results Donna ran 7th in the 3000m Steeplechase at the invitational World Athletics Final (WAF) in Stuttgart, Germany, overnight. After knocking her knee on a steeple early in the race, Donna continued on and overtook two after the bell in a sprint finish. Her time of 9.41.77 was well outside her best after less than ideal preparations following the Osaka World Championships. The race was run in good conditions. The race was won by World Championships Bronze Medallist, Eunice Jepkorir of Kenya in 9.35.03
Donna will compete in the WAF 3000m on Sunday.

Races and Results After around 35 hours in transit, I am finally in Stuttgart, awaiting the World Athletics Final on Saturday. I was the first athlete to arrive…many of the others competed in the final Golden League meet in Berlin on Sunday. I’m enjoying the time on my own for now, but can’t wait for the athletics atmosphere to begin. German television is a good way to relax- usually I don’t get the chance to sit down and be ‘lazy’… its great!

Races and Results My plans have changed slightly, but I will still race in the World Athletics Final (3000m steeplechase) on Saturday, 22nd September. I had planned to race this week in Europe, but I decided to stay in Hobart for another week instead to train (and allow my foot to recover). I will now travel to Stuttgart this weekend. My foot has recovered amazingly well and I hope to run well. Entry to the WAF is determined by a points system, where athletes score points over the European athletics season. Races and Results I have returned home to Hobart and I am recovering well from my trauma in Osaka. My foot is healing well; I am not able to run again yet, but will hopefully start jogging in the next week. I am already back in training though, since I can swim and ride the exercise bike. I am particularly motivated to stay fit, because I am still planning on racing in the World Athletics Final in Stuttgart on 22nd September. I think it will help me get over the disappointment of Osaka if I can race again internationally this season.
Thank you to everyone who contacted me and sent me messages of support and encouragement through the fanmail link on this website, both before and after my race. Your messages lifted my spirits and I am very grateful.
