Races and Results Merry Christmas! The celebrations and the food have been great. We had Christmas lunch at our house this year, with 20-something family and friends. Luckily for everyone, my husband was the chef. I had a day off training. I usually race in the Professional Carnivals in Latrobe and Devonport at this time of year, but I’m enjoying some time at home instead. It will allow me to enter the Race to the Taste in Hobart tomorrow. I’d love to win and then come home to keep working on the curtains I’m making!

Races and Results I received a gift in the mail this week from the Australian Olympic Commission. As well as a couple of books and a bound copy of all the newsletters we received each day in the athletes village, I was pleased to get a DVD of the Opening Ceremony. I didn’t arrive in Beijing until the 2nd week of the Games, and I haven’t managed to see a replay yet.
My athletics is going really well. I’ve improved a lot in the past few weeks and I’m back running in spikes. I might even test myself on the racing track soon.

Races and Results Things are heading in the right direction. I’m getting fitter and faster (thank goodness) and I am enjoying the challenge of pushing myself beyond the comfort zone. I have put on my spikes a couple of times now and I remember what it’s like to be an athlete. I enjoy being super fit. Getting fit is not that much fun. Our Tasmanian summer is off to a dismal start though. I got rained on every day for a week and now have my first cold of the year. I haven’t needed my scarf for the last two days though, so maybe things are looking up.
